Sister Clifford: Week #26 in Alabama: "I would never
move to California. That place just needs to fall off into the ocean
already!"
HI EVERYONE!!!
To start this email
off & to explain my subject, it is the FUNNIEST thing in the world having a
companion from California too! Everyone in the South hates California and just
talks about how it is on fire all the time and needs to fall off into the ocean
already. It is the funniest thing in the world and Sister Bond and I just die
every day! Gotta love Alabama ❤
Well, this week
went by in about 1 minute and was SO busy!!! It is so phone working at the
courthouse. We love it so much! We do a ton of indexing and scanning all day.
This week we had the chance to teach people how to do family history. It was
the coolest experience watching them find all of their ancestors and get so
excited! It truly made me love this experience in Columbiana.
This week started
off very exciting with a doctors appt. on Tuesday! I had to go to the
dermatologist, so Sister Bond and I took a trip to Hoover! We also had to take
some pics. in the office to document the experience! It was a fun day ;)
Yesterday was
also a really cool experience! The courthouse is always closed on Sunday, but
yesterday, after church, we were able to help out at a meeting that was
happening there! It was really fun! We also met the Mayor of Columbiana and he
thanked us for a service and for all that we are doing for the indexing project
in the courthouse! Also, yesterday was such an amazing fast Sunday. Testimony
meeting was so awesome and I felt the spirit so strong! All the testimonies
that were given were all about the Book of Mormon and how if we take the time
to study it every day, we will be blessed and have the strength and power to
resist temptation. I LOVE THE BOOK OF MORMON SO MUCH and I am so grateful for
the time that I have to study it every day. It has changed my life! I know that
if we take the time each day to read it we will come to know our Savior, Jesus
Christ more and create a stronger relationship with him.
We also had a
really amazing miracle happen to us this week! President Muck (Who is in our
mission presidency) and his wife, took us out to dinner a few nights ago and
then came to an appt. with us! We went and visited an older couple who have
been friends with the Muck's for a few years. We were told that he has been a
Baptist preacher for years, but has met with some missionaries in the past and
is a fan of bashing (OUR FAVE!!!). Well, we had the strongest impression to
share Romans Chapter 8 verse 28 with them:
28 And we know that all things work together for good to
them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
It was amazing. He
told us that it was his favorite chapter in the Bible and that he needed to
hear that scripture. The spirit was strong and we are so grateful that we were
prompted to share that scripture.
Also, we were able
to teach Sunday school yesterday and it was so fun! This ward is really
awesome! We taught them about agency and there was actually a non-member there,
so it was an amazing experience being able to discuss the Plan of Salvation and
bear our own testimonies of Heavenly Father's plan for us.
This week is also
going to be another busy and great week! We have Zone Conference on Wednesday
which we are really looking forward to. It is always so nice to go and discuss
missionary work and how we can improve as missionaries! 😊
Well, THAT IS IT
FOR THIS WEEK!!! I love you all and I am grateful for this time I have to be a
full-time representative of Jesus Christ and to teach others about this Gospel
and the blessings that come from it! It has changed me forever. THE CHURCH IS
SO TRUE!!! HAVE AN AMAZING WEEK!!!
sending all my love from alabama,
xoxoxo
