Sister Clifford: Week #24 In Alabama: "TRANSFERS!!!!"
Sister Clifford: Week #24 In Alabama:
"TRANSFERS!!!!"
WELL,
You heard it here first
folks. Transfer calls were last night, and sadly I am leaving good ol'
Prattville, Alabama. I love this place so much. It has been an incredible 5
months here and I am so grateful that the Lord sent me here. I have learned so
much. One big lesson that I have learned is that WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!!!! I
know that the Lord provides.
Sister Wilkinson is
staying in Prattville and it has been an amazing time serving with her the past
6 weeks. She is an amazing missionary and I have learned so much from her!!! I
will miss her tons! The Lord has blessed me with amazing companions.. I sure am
lucky ;) Sometimes change is hard, BUT it is also good! I am excited for a new
area and I know that it will be where the LORD needs me to be. We find out
Wednesday morning and I am PUMPED!!! I'll keep y'all updated next week ;)
Wow, what an
incredible week! It was an amazing week filled with the spirit and Heavenly
Father's love. I am heart broken to be leaving this area. The people of
Prattville are some of the most faithful, Christ-like people I have ever met. I
am so grateful for the time that Heavenly Father has given me to serve them.
First off, we had an incredible lesson with Chuck. Chuck is SO PREPARED and we
always joke with him that we are learning more from him every time we have a
lesson with him than he is learning from us. He calls us "his missionary
angels". He is still just preparing for baptism and working on quitting
smoking. He has so much faith, and he knows that the Lord will provide a way if
he sets his heart on a date. ALSO, Sister Wilkinson gave a BOMB talk in
sacrament yesterday and I sat in the back with Chuck (he calls himself a
"backseat Baptist".. welcome to the south y'all) AND I felt the
spirit so strong. It was such an amazing experience that I will remember for a
long time as I sat by him. As the Sacrament hour went on, I watched Chuck take
the sacrament, sing the hymns, and listen to intently to every talk. He LOVES
Heavenly Father so much and you can tell. Every time we are with Chuck we feel
the Lord's love for us, through him. I am going to miss him so much, BUT I know
he is going to do amazing things! It has been a serious treat to teach him in
Prattville.
Another amazing
miracle happened this week! SO one of the Sister's in Millbrook got sick this
week, so Sister Winter (HER COMP) and I went on a little blitz for the day so
that she could get some work done in Millbrook while her companion rests. The
first thing we had to do was go to the DMV. Poor Sister Winter lost her license
in Alabama a couple of months ago and she was stressing that she wouldn't be
able to get one here. BUT we got to the DMV and before we went in, I said a
prayer that the people inside would be understanding of the situation and we
would be able to get the problem solved and see a miracle. WELL, it was a
powerful experience. She only had a paper copy of her old license and they
looked at us and said "Well, we never do this, but we will accept this
today." After, we were waiting to be called back and a lady ended up
sitting by us and we started talking to her and she told us that she hasn't
been back to church in forever, but she has been looking for the missionaries
to come to her house! It was the coolest experience. She asked us a ton of
questions and then gave us her contact information. MIRACLE!!!
We also had the
opportunity to hear from an Apostle of the Lord, Elder Neil L. Anderson on
Saturday and it was an incredible experience. To be a full-time missionary
listening to an Apostle speak. It was the best day in Birmingham. This mission
is so awesome! He spoke so much on the importance of the Book of Mormon and
memorizing scriptures. Not just memorizing them to memorize them, but to
actually know them and BELIEVE them. I love the Book of Mormon so much, and I
know we will actually come to know our Savior and how we can become like Him as
we take time each day to read the Book of Mormon.
ALSO, Wednesday
and Thursday were CRAZY in Alabama!!! It snowed for the 2nd time this winter
and it has been FREEZING. Humidity and cold weather are the worst, won't lie to
ya. When it snows, Alabama pretty much shuts down and the roads close and
everyone goes WILLLDDD. So that is always exciting ;)
I also hit 6 months
on FRIDAY which is crazy!!! Time flies and I am so thankful for these past 6
months. I have felt the Lord closer to me then I ever have before. It has been
an amazing experience.
This morning was
also really fun! All the sisters in this area woke up at 5 AM and took the
seminary kids donuts and talked to them about the Book of Mormon. I love the
youth so much! It was really fun :)
ANYWAYS, that is it for now! Such an awesome week. I have
felt Heavenly Father so close to me and I am so thankful. I LOVE THIS WORK. I
am excited for a new area to continue to learn and grow in different ways and I
know it'll be where the LORD needs me. REMEMBER, WE CAN DO HARD THINGS.
I hope all of you
have an amazing week!!! Thank you for all the love, support and prayers. I am
so lucky. ❤
until next week.
all my love,
sister clifford
