Sister Clifford: Week #2 in Alabama!
Sister Clifford: Week #2 in Alabama!
Hi everyone!!!! I
hope everyone is doing well! I miss and love all of you! The south is amazing
and the people here are the very best, just like everyone said. They are the
nicest/sweetest people. This place is beautiful and so green!
We had the
opportunity to go to the temple in Birmingham last week and that was such an
amazing experience. The temple is the most perfect place to be and it's where
we should always strive to be. I'm so grateful for the peace and love I feel
when I'm inside.
The people in Bama are the best and our investigators are
amazing!!! This mission is huge and people live so far apart from each other so
we are always traveling long distances. It takes 30 minutes to get to our
church building, but the drive is beautiful! I love it. ALSO, we have this
investigator named Beverly who is the sweetest! We love her! She never stops
talking and has the deepest southern accent, literally ever. Every time we call
her on the phone she asks us to pray with her and after we say "amen"
she always goes "PRAISE THE LORD I LOVE JESUS AND I LOVE THE SISTER
MISSIONARIES". It is amazing and I try so hard not to laugh every time she
does it. I had the amazing opportunity to invite her to baptism this week which
was an experience I will never forget. I asked, and she looked at me with the
biggest smile on her face and said, "OF COURSE I WILL YA'LL.
BLESSED!!!" My companion and I just looked at each other so happy!
Missionary work truly blesses people and changes lives. I witness it everyday.
Also, we have an investigator named Glen and he is the best to teach! He's a
baptist but he always says he needs some help because he doesn't really believe
in that church and believes the Book of Mormon is more accurate. The other day
we were over at his house and he looks at me and says, "Sister Clifford,
look what I have!" and he pulls out a Clifford the big red dog stuffed
animal and just starts dying laughing. I immediately had to take a picture of
course (attached below) and then he made me take a bunch of selfies with it on
his phone. He's incredible and I love him.
I've currently been
on an exchange the last couple of days in Tupelo, Mississippi and this place is
RAD. I love the southern people. They are some of the nicest and most caring
people I have ever met. I'm grateful for this opportunity I have to be serving
them! Also, today we were able to go to the zoo n Tupelo with the other sisters
and it was so much fun, even though it was 72708731 degrees outside. Gotta love
the south in August. I sent some pictures!
Missionary work is
incredible, but it's definitely no easy task. It is very, very hard. I've had
some difficult days, but through those difficult days I've really been able to
see Heavenlly Father's hand in my life and I'm so grateful for that. He is
always there for us and He wants us to rely on Him during these hard times.
Prayer is amazing and it's such an incredible tool that we have. I'm also so
grateful for Priesthood blessings and the love, peace and comfort that they can
provide. It's amazing. I know Heavenly Father can give us strength and help us
to overcome any trial that we face.
“Whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported
in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted
up at the last day.”
—Alma 36:3
This church is
amazing and I'm so grateful for it. It has blessed my life in so many ways. Our
Heavenly Father is always there for us and he loves us. I know that to be true!
I hope everyone has a good week! WRITE ME!!! I love you all!
XOXO
