Sister Clifford: Week #18 in Alabama: "POLICE!!!!"

Sister Clifford: Week #18 in Alabama: "POLICE!!!!"
Hi everyone!!!
I hope everyone had
an awesome week! It's only been a couple of days since my last email because
our P-DAY was changed last week to Thursday, but it's been a good couple of
days. Hard & challenging, but great!
First off, I am so
grateful for the temple. We were able to go last Thursday and it was such an
amazing day. It is such a treat to be able to go as a full-time representative
of Jesus Christ. I am so lucky.
Also, transfers are
this week and we will find out what happens tonight so I'll let all y'all know
next Monday ;) My amazing companion, Sister Oscarson is going home this week,
so I will be getting a anew companion here in Prattville! I'm excited, BUT I am
going to miss Sister Oscarson SO MUCH! She is AMAZING. She is such a diligent
and steadfast missionary & she has taught me SO MUCH. I am so grateful I
have been able to serve with her these past 4 months. We have had way too much
fun together ;) I'm going to miss it! I love her!
ALSO, BIG NEWS
EVERYONE! It SNOWED IN ALABAMA. Yep, SNOW!!! It was crazy & it's been
FREEZING here lately! It snowed all day on Friday and it was so pretty, not
gonna lie. Made it really feel like Christmas! We were freaking out all day..
it was a winter wonderland!
ALSO, ANOTHER CRAZY
STORY FOR THIS WEEK:
So Thursday night
at 2 AM, we hear this huge bang outside! So loud.. literally sounded like a
bomb. We kind of rolled over and looked at each other like what the heck was
that? and then just kinda went back to bed and then like 5 minutes later we
heard the same exact sound! So we look out the window and about 20 cops are
outside storming our apartment complex and start banging on all the doors with
flashlights and everything screaming, "POLICE!!!!" and of course, we
start freaking out! Who wouldn't? ;)
SO we turn on all the lights and then we see all these
people outside so we open our apartment door and black smoke just engulfs our
whole apartment.. not kidding. AND a car is just on fire right outside our
apartment! IT WAS CRAZY. They are pretty sure it was a car bomb (if you're
reading this mom, don't panic!!!)
Keep in mind.. it's 2 AM.
We just sat on our porch for an hour watching this car on
fire. It was the craziest night ever. Sums up Alabama for ya ;) Something new
and exciting happens every day.
BEST PART: the elders slept through the entire thing.
Not gonna lie though, It honestly really brought our
neighborhood together! It was a good time!
We also had our ward Christmas party Saturday night and it
was amazing!!! SO MUCH FUN. The members in the Prattville ward really are some
awesome people! I am so lucky to be here serving with them! They are amazing
people. We had our investigator Felicia and her family come to the party, as
well as Megan and her kids! They all had a blast! Even though Megan moved, we
are still in contact with her and we were so grateful she was able to come to
the Christmas party. She is amazing!
I love being a
missionary during this time of year and I LOVE the Light the World service
initiative that the church is doing. I would encourage all of you to keep doing
it and to visit LDS.ORG. It is such an amazing opportunity that helps us to
remember what this season is all about, which is our Savior, Jesus Christ. I
love him and I love teaching others about His infinite love.
I am excited for
this week and for all that lies ahead! I am so grateful for this experience
& for the LOVE that I feel for my Heavenly Father daily. It's been
incredible.
I hope all of you have an amazing week! Thank you for all
the prayers and support! I really do feel them daily. Have a blessed week ;)
Love you all!!!
2 Nephi 19:6
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and
the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called,
Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of
Peace.
XOXO
