Sister Clifford WEEK #13 in Alabama: "ROLL TIDE"

Sister Clifford WEEK #13 in Alabama: "ROLL TIDE"
HI FAMILY & FRIENDS!!!
I hope everyone had an awesome week!
To start off this email, I am going to tell you what it's like to be a missionary in Alabama (AKA BEST PLACE EVER):
1. You hear y'all 80 million times a day.
2. You smell like cigarette smoke everywhere you go AND you are always covered in cat or dog hair. It's a blast actually ;)
3. Everywhere you go you hear "ROLL TIDE"
4. And you are surrounded by the sweetest and kindest people ever who have a deep love for God and they have amazing faith.
To sum it all up... being a missionary in the South is a blessing and I really am lucky.
Well, this week went by so quick! It was an amazing week, full of many miracles and blessings.

First off, our investigator Megan is doing amazing! We had such an awesome lesson with her. We read Enos together in the Book of Mormon and talked about having faith in the Lord's timing and His plan for us. She really opened up to us and talked about how she still knows that God loves her, even though sometimes it's hard to feel Him there because her situation is so difficult. She is 21, takes care of 3 kids and her husband is never there. She works so hard to keep her family together! She is an amazing example of faith and I sure do love her.
Also, we stopped at a man named Dormand Day's house this week and he hasn't been to church in forever, so we got a prompting to stop in and see how he's doing. He opened the door, looked at us, and just asked if we could come back at the same time tomorrow. The next day, we went to his house and he was waiting on the front porch for us! He shared his testimony with us AND wow, he is a light. He know's this church is true, and he told us that when he opened the door to us the day before that God's voice spoke to him and said "listen to them". He told us how he has always turned away other missionaries, BUT there was something different about us. It was an amazing experience.
Before we left, we shared Helaman 5:12 with him:
12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty stormshall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.
It was powerful. The spirit was felt and he said he knows he needs to be at church! It was a miracle.
I want everyone to know how powerful the Book of Mormon is. It is true. I have truly come to learn from it and love it out here on my mission. It has lead and guided me and has given me peace and comfort when I needed it most. I know that if you read it, your life will be filled with more joy and happiness. This week, I finished reading Alma which has 63 chapters. As I finished, I reflected back on what I had been reading. In the Book of Alma, 39 years occur. Those 39 years are filled with trials and hardships that the Nephites had to overcome, when going to war against the Lamanites. BUT there is a powerful lesson to be learned. During those 39 years, they fully relied on the Lord. They knew that the Lord would help them in their trials and would Deliver them. They had to trust and be patient in His timing. They are an amazing example of Faith.
ALMA 62:50-51
50 Yes, they remembered how great things the Lord had done for them: how he had delivered them from death, and from captivity, and from prisons, and from all manner of afflictions, and had rescued them from the hands of their enemies.

51 And they prayed to the Lord their God continually, to the degree that he blessed them according to his word, so that they became strong and prospered on the earth.

I LOVE THE BOOK OF MORMON. I know it is powerful and it can change your lie. All you have to do is act and READ. By acting, I know that you will be blessed.
I am so grateful for the knowledge I have and for the chance I have to share it with others. I am truly blessed. I really do love you all. I am grateful for all the love and support. I hope everyone has a great week!
STAY BLESSED & REMEMBER ROLL TIIIDDEEE ;)
Love you all!
xoxo
