Sister Clifford: Week #12 In Alabama: ALL GROWN UP!!!

Sister Clifford: Week #12 In Alabama: ALL GROWN UP!!!
Friends & Family! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
Wow, what a week. Life is good and I am happy. First off, transfers are this week and I am so happy to announce that Sister Oscarson and I are staying together for another 6 weeks!!! We are so excited and we love working in this area. It is AMAZING. I love Sister Oscarson so much and she is a fantastic missionary! I have learned so much from her and I am so grateful to be her companion. Also, it is a little bittersweet because this is her last transfer and then she goes home after this! :( We are so sad and we do our best not to talk about it ever... it's a touchy subject in this companionship ;) I sure do love her and can't wait for these next 6 weeks with her. ALSO, BIG NEWS! I am no longer what they call a "greenie" missionary! In Sister Oscarson's words: "I am all grown up and done with 12 week training!" WOOHOO. Life is great! I can't believe I have been in Alabama for 3 months. Time really does fly! I have learned SO MUCH.
Being a missionary in the South is amazing. People are so willing to talk about the Gospel and how much Jesus Christ means to them. They are passionate and love the Lord. They will talk for HOURS (not kidding) about how much they love God and how blessed they are. They are an amazing example of faith. I learn so much from them daily.
This week was full of so many miracles. First off, we had the most amazing lesson with our Investigator Lee. She is the cutest girl ever and we love her! She has been meeting with missionaries for forever and knows it is true, but is just scared to commit to baptism. She is also pregnant and lives with her boyfriend.  Although we always invite him to join us, he never cares about what we have to say. It's a bummer. BUT we had the greatest lesson with her this past Thursday night. We have been talking a lot about the Book of Mormon and how if she continues to read it she will not only be blessed, but her baby will be to. We talked a lot about baptism and she agreed that she knows it is what she needs to do. She loves the Book of Mormon and has a powerful testimony of them. I testified to her that if she gets baptized, her life will be filled with so much peace and joy and her baby will have the opportunity to be raised in this Gospel as well. She just looked at us and said, "wow, that makes me happy." She agreed to ponder the idea of baptism! We love her and think she's amazing. Her example of faith and diligence has taught me so much.
Also, we have been struggling to be in contact with our investigator Raquel, so we decided to leave her a note and see if she contacts us. We dropped it off at the beginning of last week and waited a couple of days and had received no response. We were so sad and just kept praying for a miracle. WELL, last night we were walking out of a dinner appointment and she had texted us! She asked is we could come by this week and that she had missed us lots and loved us. We were so happy!
ALSO, another amazing miracle with our investigator Megan. She had been cancelling on us for awhile and stopped responding to us, so we decided to go see her one night. We walked in and it was calm and the spirit was felt. There was definitely a different feeling inside. Her crazy husband Danny started talking to us, asking us how we were doing and that they missed us! He then stopped and said, "wait, last time you were here y'all said you were going to read the Book of Mormon with us". We were shocked that he remembered and brought it up. He hates when we read with Megan and always leaves the room, BUT he brought it up this time. His attitude is definitely changing towards us. It is a miracle. We also had the chance to go to a Halloween party with them yesterday evening and they are the sweetest people. They love us so much and are always so welcoming. We love them and being able to teach them more about this Gospel.
Lastly, we had our ward Trunk or Treat this week and all the missionaries decorated our car! It was so fun! Halloween is the best. This ward is like family!
Well, It's been a great week FULL of miracles. Some days are difficult, but there is always something GOOD that can be found among the hard. Heavenly Father blesses us in so many ways. The Book of Mormon is TRUE. I know it. I know that it can bless your life and bring you true and eternal joy. It has changed my life on my mission. I love this work. I am grateful for all the support and love! I feel it every day. I hope everyone is doing amazing back at home! I sure do love you all!
Have a great week and remember to CTR ;)
